2. The Interesting Story Behind Titop Island, Quang Ninh

Titop Island in Quang Ninh is not only beautiful in terms of scenery but also holds interesting stories that will make you love this place even more. The name Titop originates from a special event on November 22, 1962, when President Ho Chi Minh and cosmonaut Gherman Titov visited Ha Long Bay. During that trip, they set foot on this small island, and to mark the Vietnam-Soviet friendship, President Ho named the island after the distinguished guest. From then on, the name Titop was born, replacing old names like Cat Nang or Hong Thap Tu, bringing a new and proud meaning.

Before being named Titop, the island was known as Hong Thap Tu because of a sad event in 1905, when a French cargo ship hit a reef and sank near the bay. The unfortunate sailors were buried on the island, leaving a name associated with historical memory. But President Ho's visit transformed the place into a bright symbol, a destination not only for sightseeing but also to remember special moments in Vietnamese history.

Standing atop Titop, you will feel not only the beauty of nature but also the breath of history, of the Vietnamese spirit always reaching out to the world. That is why Titop Island in Quang Ninh is not just a stopover but also an emotional journey for every tourist.
