Vietnam has recently announced a new visa policy to facilitate international visitors, promote tourism, business and cultural exchanges. Below, we will present the highlights of the new visa policy for foreigners in a clear and concise manner.
1. Eligible for e-visa
The e-visa program has been expanded to apply to citizens of all countries and territories. E-visas will be issued to foreigners arriving in Vietnam at 16 land border gates, 13 border gates and 13 air border gates. E-visas allow single entry and stay of up to 90 days, making them suitable for tourists, business travelers or visiting relatives. The e-visa application process is done entirely online, saving time and effort for applicants.
2. Tourist visa duration
The new policy also extends the tourist visa duration from the previous limit of 30 days to 90 days with the option of single or multiple entries. This provides more flexibility for visitors who want to experience Vietnam for a longer period or combine trips within the region.
3. Temporary stay for visa-exempt visitors
Previously, visa-free stays were often limited to as short as 15 days, but the new policy allows visitors to be eligible to stay in Vietnam for up to 45 days without a visa, depending on their nationality. This is a great benefit for you – whether you are a tourist or a short-term business traveler, you will have more time to explore Vietnam’s vibrant culture, stunning landscapes and bustling cities.
